What is Your Superpower? Super Vision?

The word supervision has all sorts of negative connotations of oversight and assessment.

Most lawyers are familiar with hierarchical supervision because newly admitted solicitors (in most jurisdictions) have a supervised practice condition imposed on their practising certificates during the beginning years of practice.

“There is a common misconception that supervision is only for those who are still in training, or for those who are somehow lacking or incompetent. To the contrary, a willingness to engage in supervision and explore vulnerabilities requires, strength, maturity and commitment”.

Supervision (#Super-Vision superpower 👀) allows the supervisee to view their work life from different perspectives, shifting the focus from wide to narrow, soft to sharp and from the bigger picture to the smallest of detail, considering the different relational realms and context involved.

Law can be a challenging and rewarding career. However, no area of law is immune from heightened emotions, stress, and responsibility. Often these traumas take on a successive, cumulative nature and are not one-off events. All practice areas of law take their toll and are manifested to some degree, at some point, by the lawyer.

Super-Vision helps you focus on what matters and keeps you in the law with career longevity and enjoyment. 👓
